I mean, I can't use it yet because I have android, so I can't even decide if I like it. I might just make it a feature for paid subscribers. I can see it being more useful for my podcast than my newsletter because that is a blog and I want to keep it writing focused. I don't know. We'll see.
Of course, I'm the kind of glutton for punishment that loves Twitter, so...
I agree with what you had to say about the chats. I think they went a little too far with this one. I think Substack has enough to stand on its own without having to twist itself into a pseudo Twitter
I have the same feelings in regards to chat. Only a few people I follow have made use of it but one or two are using it quite a bit and yes, the constant notifications are annoying. I actually have notifications on my phone silenced on most of my apps which helps a lot. I sent out an email about it to see what’s what but most of my subscribers are not Substack users so it doesn’t matter anyways.
That will auto follow/friend me when you get there. I have gained 2000 since starting my account there on 10/26. And the vibe there is VERY G+. I have removed all my twitter data as I will not be a part of that mess.
There seems to be an attempt to become the new twitter since Musk took it over. To be honest I left twitter once I heard he was definitely taking it over. However, not every space needs to become a community or a social network.
