Quick note to kick this off
If you have followed me on any social media platform in the not so distant past and have noticed lately that my accounts are gone or have become private and you are no longer able to see them, there’s a reason for that. Well actually, there are multiple reasons for that.
First of all, if this is the case, please don’t take it personally. It isn’t about you, it’s about me. I have slowly been decreasing my online presence over the past few years, and more recently have felt a more urgent need to not have my life on display. It has become a matter of privacy and personal safety for me. So, I have made everything private, with the exception of this blog/newsletter (thus far), and I have removed all followers on my social media platforms who are not either family or close friends. I may end up deleting Twitter and Instagram in the long run, but for now, this is what works for me.
Anyway… I know my posting here has been sporadic and that is because I’m really struggling with what I feel comfortable sharing here anymore. I’m even considering whether I should carry on with it or not. Time will tell…
In other news, Spring is almost here!
I’m giddy with excitement at the prospect of blue skies, green grass, flowers, and warm breezes. It’s all I’ve thought about since October, when winter began here in my neck of the woods. I simply can’t wait!
And of course, it has me in the mood to do some Spring cleaning, which is why I’ve chosen now to restart the clean up of my online presence. I’m also decluttering our home by getting rid of yet another load of clothes, linens, housewares, camping gear (that we never use), and old electronics. We took a few loads today to several different donation centers, and it felt good to be rid of it all.
Next will come the actual cleaning, which my dusty home is desperately needing. I can’t wait to be able to open the windows and let in some fresh air!
So yeah…
I hope you are all doing well, I thank you for your support, and remind you all to be loving, be kind, be better!
Spring Is In The Air! #2
Since taking Twitter off of my phone I’ve spent way less time there as a whole. I think the whole act of cutting back to the minimum and then adding back only the necessary is a much needed exercise once in a while. We tend to accumulate.
Just like our home, the need to clean house helps us feel whole again.
All social media is becoming a pay for your protection scheme or scam. I won't do that. A good time to lessen our presence online.
Spring is near. More time to spend outdoors. Gardening, hiking, biking and all the good warm weather activities.
