Last week I posted my normal Monday ramblings and then I posted again, in response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Texas. And though this space isn’t dedicated to talking about all things political and religious, sometimes a situation warrants a response. In doing so, I managed to piss off a few people, and even lost a subscriber; someone I consider family at that! But, I guess that’s just the way it goes. The US is so deeply divided politically and morally that even those who proclaim to love and support you will turn their backs on you the minute you claim to have an opinion that is in direct opposition of theirs.
Anywho… the interactions from that post last week exhausted me mentally and emotionally and I just couldn’t bring myself to write anything substantial this week. Photography & Travel… It all seems trivial in comparison to what the families of the victims are going through. The pain they feel and the broken hearts they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives.
So yeah, I will leave this week’s post at that. And until next week, be loving, be kind, be better!
Nothing To See Here
Any comments that don’t conform to people’s current mindsets will typically cause some sort of reaction It’s their ability and willingness to have an open dialogue with meaningful conversation is what sets them apart from those that can’t.
We can’t always have “safe” conversations. Keep doing what you are doing and don’t let the loss of one, dictate your future work or get you down.
