I know I know! I didn’t post last week. I apologize for the skipped week, but sometimes you just don’t have anything worthwhile to say and you need a break. Last week was that week for me. And now…
A few days ago my husband bought a new spin bike for us and yesterday (well last Wednesday now) my brain assigned me the task of figuring out how to fit it into the only space available; which was our already cozy (ie super packed) office/guest room. And though this was not what I set out to do that day, nor was it on my handy dandy to-do list, this is the task that I spent most of my day on.
But alas, it is done. I have rearranged the space, eliminated some of the furniture in the office (which means it now sits in another room waiting for some lucky person to buy it off of Kijiji), and my husband has assembled the bike and put it in the spot I designated for it. It turns out this bike gave me the opportunity to purge and give myself a new perspective (office wise). This has not only given me more room in the space, but the act of changing things up, sparked my creative juices. Sweet! It’s a welcome feeling to have a bit of creative spark sparking when you’ve been so long without it. Who knows what it will ignite; Im just glad it’s here.
The newly created space now holds the task of being a gym (spin bike, stepper, yoga mats, and hand weights), a home office (desk, computers, printer, shredder, camera gear etc), and a guest room (via an air mattress stored in the gear closet). And you may think we are expecting too much of this space and that we should designate some other area of our home for one or more of those tasks, but it truly is the only space we have, so we try to make the most of every square inch.
BUT… this room still needs to be repainted. It hasn’t been done since 2016ish (which if you know me you know that’s a long time for me) and it shows. I have the paint and did plan to do it this summer, but the time just got away from me. I guess I should try to get it done before winter sets in and it gets so cold that it take days for paint to dry. GAH! Then maybe I can get some of our photos on the walls and make this space really feel like part of our home.
Anyway, that’s about it. My life these days is simply eat, sleep, work. It’s certainly not exciting and exotic by any means. But who ever said it had to be?
Until next time, be loving, be kind, be better!
Little Changes Here & There
I love the new setup. A nice refreshing start
